Trimix is a popular self-administered medication for treating Erectile Dysfunction. The medication increases blood flow to the penis to enable an erection. It is known for working quickly, with the effects lasting for 1 hour.
At GameDay Men’s Health, our medical practitioners provide detailed instructions and support to men who are a candidate for Trimix.
Trimix consists of a blend of three powerful medications – Papaverine, Phentolamine, and Prostaglandin E 1.
Papaverine causes blood vessels to expand, which ultimately creates increased blood flow to the penis resulting in an erection.
Phentolamine causes the penis to remain in a contracted state. It also must be injected into the body (rather than consumed as a pill) because of the body’s ability to metabolize it.
Prostaglandin E 1 has been found to be effective in patients who experience sexual dysfunction. It’s typically used when other forms of treatment have not worked.

The benefits of Trimix injections include:
Your Trimix medication needs to be refrigerated. The needle should only ever touch your skin and should never touch another object. If the needle does touch another object, it should be thrown away. Never share your needle with another person. The following are step-by-step instructions for using your Trimix medication:
You should never use Trimix more than once per day and it should never be used more than twice per week. Your GameDay Men’s Health provider will provide you with specific instructions on how often you should inject your Trimix medication.
Trimix begins to work within 5 to 20 minutes following the injection and its effects last up to 1 hour.
We understand Erectile Dysfunction can be a sensitive subject for men. Each of our GameDay Men’s Health licensed providers is highly experienced in evaluating and treating men with the symptoms associated with Erectile Dysfunction.
Your first appointment will be a free consultation with a GameDay Men’s Health provider. A full review of your symptoms and medical history will be conducted in order to ensure you are a candidate for Trimix treatment and to help you achieve the best results possible. We might also do a quick blood test at our in-office lab to test your total testosterone levels. We get these results back in 15 minutes.
If you are found to be a candidate for treatment, a second appointment will be scheduled for the Trimix injection to take place.
Your first Trimix injection will be done in the GameDay Men’s Health office. One of our medical practitioners will show you how to inject Trimix yourself at home. They will also answer any questions you might have. You will be told how many times per week to inject yourself, depending on your specific needs. You will always need to wait 24 hours between injections.
After each Trimix injection you can expect to experience an injection within 5 to 20 minutes following the injection. This should last for 1 hour.
While side effects can vary from person to person, they tend to be minimal. Side effects can include headache, dizziness, penile pain, injection site bruising, and prolonged erection. Swelling can occur if the needle is placed incorrectly into the skin, and bleeding at the injection site can occur when not enough pressure is placed at the injection site after removing the needle.
As mentioned above, the side effects tend to be minimal. However if you experience an erection that lasts more than 3 hours you should seek medical attention.
